This recording is my sonic illustration of a summer day in Manhattan, created through location-specific spontaneous improvisations and interactions with the city. I chose some of my favorite outdoor spots on the island, and spent 30 minutes to an hour or so in each one improvising along with whatever was happening. My friend, engineer, and co-producer Andy Bove and I then listened to the 7 hours of music we recorded and whittled it down until we had the essence of each piece.
